" I cant even change a lightbulb let alone hang a picture or shelf, fix the toilet, hammer a nail, do home maintenance or even read a map ." 

" I don't have a clue what to do in any given emergency situation like change a car tire, turn off my water main, deal with a fire or protect and provide for my loved ones during a crisis." 

Everyday common sense life skills are not taught in schools or at home anymore. Generations of people lack the knowledge to handle most basic tasks or know what to do in an emergency. 

People have lost the desire, capability and pride in handling the things once thought of as our personal responsibilities. It's easier to call someone to help, hire or bail us out. Not very expedient, rewarding or economical is it?

Basically...We've gotten SOFT.
